CISE (Columbus Institute for Social Empowerment) has been established to respond to challenges facing communities in terms of skills and access to the job market.

The founding director of CISE – Patricia Tharage – realised the need for an NGO that can effectively apply professional and commercial skills to the need for social empowerment.

OUR MISSION

CISE is committed to empowering women and youth in South Africa through skills and workforce development, to provide job placement and create a supportive environment where individuals can continue to grow.

Skills Development: CISE assists women and youth to develop professional and commercial skills, taking them from aspiration to action through sustainable empowerment tools and training to become self-dependent.

Job Creation: Working together with our strategic partners, CISE is committed to creating jobs for women and youth through establishing commercial services and assisting youth to fulfill governmental roles.

Community Empowerment: Through effective and sustainable initiatives CISE wants to transform, empower, and equip individuals and communities to have control over their lives, their progress, and exert influence in society.

Capacity Building: The vision of CISE is long-term, to offer more than training through ongoing monitoring and support to enable those who have acquired positions, or have started generating income, to continue and grow.

SKILLS TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

Through its team of experts, CISE offers training opportunities to women and youth in South Africa and encourages independence and entrepreneurial development.

CISE plays a prominent role in the ICT sector, and through strategic partnerships our skilled trainees are ready to enter the workforce of South Africa.
